Martin Schaffer, MRICS


As graduate of the Viennese University of Applied Science in Vienna Martin Schaffer spent two years with Austrian Airlines and another two years with SynGroup Unternehmensberatung GmbH as senior consultant. From 2005 to 2012 he was managing partner with Kohl & Partner Consulting in Vienna, and, furthermore, from 2008 to 2011 responsible for the Bucharest and Budapest offices.
Besides his extensive experience in the consulting and real estate sector, Martin Schaffer used his knowledge for presentations and workshops at numerous universities and conferences.

Olaf Steinhage


Olaf Steinhage is a graduate engineer and architect, a graduate of the EBS Business School, Oestrich-Winkel and a passionate hotelier. He brings with him many years of experience in planning and project development and also has much experience giving conceptual and operational advice to national and international hotels and resort projects.

After gaining experience in international planning and consulting at Suter & Suter AG in Basel / Zurich, in the mid-1990s he worked as an assistant to management and also as project developer at Deutsche Interhotel AG in Berlin. After working as managing director of project development at the BKatz group of companies and Drees & Sommer AG, Olaf Steinhage founded his company hcb in Berlin in 2005, which has been part of MRP Hotels since 01.01.2020.


Jan Hein Simons


Jan Hein Simons served 21 years inside the NH Hotel-Group and Golden Tulip organizations in various leading and executive roles. After assuming the post-merger responsibility in the Spanish head-office in Madrid, he changed role and scope while being managing director different business units in the group, such as Germany & Poland, as well as in the business unit Benelux, France, UK and Africa. In these positions, he was able to direct the business successfully, while attaining important growth for the NH Hotel-Group. After leaving NH Hotels, he successfully led operations of the Falkensteiner Hotels as a chief operating officer.
Jan Hein Simons has graduated both from the Hogeschool Zuyd in Maastricht and as well as Florida International University in Miami, with a bachelor- and master-of-Science respectively. Because of his long experience and expert knowledge, Jan Hein Simons is asked regularly as key-note speaker during conferences and educational institutions or participant in panel discussions.

Mustafa Özdemir


His career spans more than three decades, working in practically every area of the industry, with a focus on Austrian hotels – his latest position was as COO for the Martinez Hotels Group. In addition he has led a number of hotels in Vienna, Salzburg, Ljubljana and Innsbruck. Amongst other activities Mustafa Özdemir spent more than five years as Chairman of Supranational Hotels based in London.

Gilbert-André Ghammachi


Gilbert-André Ghammachi has over ten years of experience in the international hotel industry, specialising in the areas of Revenue Management and eCommerce. His responsibilities included working as Regional Revenue Manager for Grand City Hotels & Resorts, Germany and as Reservation Sales Supervisor of the Hilton Vienna Cluster.

Patrick Adamle, MRICS


Patrick Adamle has been part of the mrp team since 2013. As the Managing Director, he is specifically responsible for the operational management of mrp, from concept to completion. Patrick is adept at building cross-functional teams, leads the Vienna team and manages communication with the office in Turkey. As an adaptable and implementation-strong leader, he helps to further consolidate the goals of the organization. In addition to his services in international consulting, Patrick has more than ten years of hospitality experience combined with business studies. His knowledge is especially useful for our clients in Hotel Performance Management (Asset Management) as well as in lease and contract management.

Poğda Demircan

Managing Director

Poğda Demircan brings over 15 years of experience in the international hospitality and real estate industries, specializing in hotel development. Prior to joining mrp hotels, Pogda was an independent consultant, supporting investors at every phase of the hotel development. He worked at Hilton Worldwide as the Development Director, responsible for Turkey between 2008 and 2015, then he became the VP Development at Marriott International, where he developed hotels between 2015 and 2018. He holds a B. Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering and a MBA degree with focus on Finance.

Catherine Latzenhofer

Senior Consultant

Catherine Latzenhofer focuses on strategic consulting, asset management and operator search. For the past five years, she worked for the real estate service provider CBRE in the hotel team in London and Vienna. Further professional stations: Kempinski Hotels and Vienna Tourism. She completed her BBA at Modul University Vienna, followed by her MSc at the University of Surrey in England.

Alexander Schick

Senior Consultant

Mr. Schick is part of the mrp team since mid-2019. His professional career began during his school and university years and included, in addition to family-run hotel companies, operational positions at Marriott International in Vienna and London. Through his work at Unicredit Bank Austria, Mr. Schick was able to gain expertise in the area of commercial real estate financing. Since 2017, Mr. Schick specialised in hotel consulting and has worked as a consultant at TREUGAST Solutions Group Munich. In addition to graduating from the Vienna University of Economics and Business and Oxford Brookes University with a focus on economics, real estate- and hotel management, Mr. Schick received further training in business valuation at the London School of Economics. Mr. Schick is currently a part-time lecturer at the University of Applied Management in Munich as well as studying towards a LLM degree in Corporate Restructuring from Heidelberg University.

Max Murmann


Max Murmann joined the Vienna team as a consultant in January 2021. The F&B business economist brings many years of expertise from the areas of F&B, hotel openings and project development to his projects at mrp hotels. Earlier professional stations included: Hyatt, Mandarin Oriental and the private hotel industry. Before joining the mrp hotels team in Vienna, Mr. Murmann worked in project development for the past 2 years and extended his knowledge.


Philipp Schirmböck


Mr. Schirmböck has supported the team in Vienna for more than two years. He studied business administration at the Vienna University of Economics and Business , specialising in SME management and foreign trade. In the context of his current master´s degree at the Vienna University of Economics and Business and the Graduate School of Management in St. Petersburg, Mr. Schirmböck focuses on international corporate finance and risk management. In addition, he is continuing his academic education at the University of St. Gallen in the field of Energy and Climate Governance. During his professional career, Mr. Schirmböck has gained work experience with international corporations and management consultancies such as Erste Bank Group AG or PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Lea-Sophie Zwoch


Based in the Berlin office, Lea-Sophie Zwoch has been with MRP as a consultant since April 2019. Ms. Zwoch completed her bachelor’s degree in business administration at the Business School of Hamburg and at the École de Management in Strasbourg. Ms. Zwoch collected her first experiences in consulting during this time. Before joining the team in Berlin, Ms. Zwoch worked for a young company in Hamburg doing project development and project management in the area of ​​business development and expansion.

Paulina Held

Junior Consultant

Paulina Held completed her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Hotel and Tourism Management at the Berlin School of Economics and Law. At the same time, she collected operational knowledge in all areas of the hotel industry. She is currently studying for a Master’s degree in Management and Consulting. Social media marketing, retail and revenue management are her key areas of expertise.

Franz Koller

Junior Consultant

Mr. Koller works in our team in Vienna. The generalist business economist graduated with a bachelor’s degree from WU in Vienna and Bentley University in Boston Massachusetts. During his studies he specialized in the areas of finance and entrepreneurship & innovation. Prior to mrp he gained experience in several national and international companies such as the Uniqa Insurance Group or the consulting firm Accenture.

Beatrice Sommer

Junior Consultant

Beatrice Sommer joined the team in Vienna at the beginning of 2020. The graduated hotel manageress completed her Bachelor in Tourism Management and Master in Event Management while working. She gained experience in various national and international positions in the luxury hotel industry and globally operating hotel brands.
In her last position she was head of the Convention & Event Department at the LOISIUM Wine & Spa Resort in Langenlois. Her operative professional experience covers all areas of the hospitality industry.


Jochen Nowak

Research Analyst

Jochen Nowak has been part of the Vienna mrp hotels team since October 2020. He completed a Bachelor of Commerce at the Victoria University of Wellington, in New Zealand, before returning to Vienna to complete a Master’s degree. During his studies, Mr. Nowak specialised in strategic management and gained additional experience in various national and international companies, including a PR agency and a tax consulting firm.

Barbara Grabher-Meyer

Office Manager

Barbara Grabher-Meyer has many years of pro-active experience in hotel operations, especially in international sales & marketing departments. Mrs Grabher-Meyer supports mrp hotels in the areas of distribution,feasibility studies and office management.

Susanne Kraus-Winkler


President of HOTREC since 1 January 2015, Susanne Kraus-Winkler has been a Member of the HOTREC Executive Committee since 2004 and Vice President since 2010. She is a longstanding industry representative as well as an entrepreneur in the hospitality industry with 35 years of practical experience in the hotel and restaurant business and 25 years of managing a family-owned hotel and restaurant business. She also has many years of practical experience in tourism consulting and lecturing at several universities.  Ms. Kraus-Winkler is a founding partner of the LOISIUM Wine & Spa Resort Hotel Group and a shareholder of several hotel management and tourism consulting companies. Ms. Kraus-Winkler holds several positions on different management boards of tourism representations in Austria and at the EU level. She is the Vice President of the Austrian Professional Hotel Association, a member of the board of the Austrian national and regional hotel classification group, a chairperson of the examination board of the Austrian Hotel Association’s hotel academy, a member of the Austrian chapter of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, and a member of several official working groups and committees in the Austrian tourism industry.

Herbert Mascha


Extensive experience as civil engineer for international projects in position of project manager and advisor. Herbert Mascha advised international hotel chains on development of new properties as well as renovations of running operations. As trained mediator in conflict management he is a valuable resource in crisis management. Besides his strong and reliable network of international contacts and professional partners, Herbert Mascha offers significant expertise, which already international organizations relied on.

Stephen Mulligan


Stephen Mulligans career spans more than three decades in international hotel operations at virtually every level of the industry – most recently as Area Vice President of Operations for InterContinental Hotels Group CEE and as Director of Operations for InterContinental Hotels in London. A number of outstanding hotel properties in London as well as InterContinental Hotels in Düsseldorf, Hanover and Vienna were managed under his guidance. Before that, Stephen Mulligan spent more than six years in the Middle East, where he was involved in the opening of InterContinental hotels in Dubai, Muscat and Bahrain.
